Overdue Visit

Last weekend Tripp and I went to visit Tripp's sister and husband, Quincey and Blake in Killeen, TX. They are expecting a baby girl and are due on May 2nd. We hadn't seen Blake, Quincey, and Emmaline since our wedding so a visit was way overdue.

Tripp's cousins that live in Houston, JJ and Gerry, had a child's table and chairs that they wanted us to bring to Killeen when we visited. Man was it a feat to get a table and four chairs in either my Civic or Tripp's Accord!! Here is a picture of how the table made the drive..... Tripp certaily had to put some of his boy scout skills to use to secure the table ontop of my car.

When we arrived, we spent a few hours talking and catching up. We got caught up about Emmaline's progress and the plans for their move to Arizona. Saturday morning we were treated to a wonderful breaakfast followed by a trip to nearby Salado, TX. We ate lunch, explored some of the shops, stopped for a Jelly Belly jellybean snack, Sonic happy hour drinks, and then ventured home. Here is a picture of the four of us by a famous Salado statue depicting the Troll with one billy goat from "The Three Billy Goats Gruff."

We spent Saturday evening relaxing, watching tv, and eating a great dinner. Sunday morning we packed up and headed back to Houston. We had a great weekend with Quincey, Blake, and Emmaline. We can't wait until little Emmaline makes her apperance into the world !!

Celebrating Grandmothers

Tripp and I spent Easter weekend in Mississippi to celebrate Mama Hazel's 90th birthday and to visit Grandma. We spent Friday and most of the day on Saturday in Canton, MS with Tripp's mom's side of the family. On Friday, we went to see Aunt Stacy's art in a nearby gallery, visited with Mama Hazel, checked into the hotel, and had a fabulous dinner with most of the Howell family. Saturday we all prepared for Mama Hazel's birthday party at a local bed and breakfast. At the party we had a great time enjoying the Howell special frozen mint tea, delicious food, and visiting with family.

We then left the party with Grandma, Tripp's dad's mom, and drive to Philadelphia, MS. Once there, I was given the tour of the town (which didn't take too long). We stopped at
a popular one-stop-shop Williamsville. Tripp and I left the store with new shoes, peanuts, and the infamous red rine cheese! Here is Tripp and Grandma at Williamsville.

When we got back to Grandma's house, we began boiling peanuts, a process I had never seen before. While the peanuts were cooking, we played a heated game of Aggravation (which Grandma dominated over). Here is Grandma showing us how to boil peanuts to perfection!

On Sunday, we went to early morning Easter service followed by a great breakfast with Grandma's friends from church. After church, we packed up and drive to Jackson to catch our flight.

We had a great weekend and can't wait for our next Mississippi visit!!
